TechFlame reports that the British government announced on Saturday that the private sector from the US will invest more than 1.25 billion pounds (about 1.69 billion US dollars) in the UK financial services sector, including PayPal, Bank of America, Citigroup, and S&P Global. These new US investments will create 1,800 jobs in the UK and bring more convenience to millions of customers, the statement said. The statement also pointed out that the agreement has boosted 20 billion pounds of trade between the two countries, including BlackRock's estimated additional 7 billion pound commitment in the UK. According to the statement, Bank of America will create up to 1,000 new jobs in Belfast. This is the bank's first time doing business in Northern Ireland; Citigroup will invest £1.1 billion in its UK business; and S&P Global will invest £4 million in Manchester to create 200 permanent jobs.
