TechFlame news, September 12. According to The Block, Coinbase has submitted an application to the federal court to “expedite and proper investigation” of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler's deleted text messages. According to a report from the Inspector General's Office, the SEC deleted Gensler's SMS records for nearly a year (October 2022 to September 2023) in September 2023. This period coincided with the collapse of FTX and the SEC's enhanced enforcement actions against cryptocurrency exchanges (including Coinbase). Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal
called it a “serious breach of public trust” and asked the court to take sanctions.
