TechFlame reports that the US Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of the Comptroller General (OIG) revealed in a report released on Wednesday that the SEC's IT department “implemented an incomprehensible automation policy, causing companies to erase data on mobile devices issued by the Gensler government” and deleted stored text messages and operating system logs. The Inspector General's office found that some of the texts Gensler removed involved SEC enforcement actions against cryptocurrency companies and their founders, which meant that key communications about how and when the SEC is pursuing the case may never be fully known, even to the courts, Congress, or the public.
