TechFlame reports that according to Caixin, OTC fund manager Song Shijie, who is in arrears in forfeiture of 22 million yuan to the treasury, handed over nearly 200 million yuan in asset forfeiture settlements to Britain and the US. The UK's National Criminal Investigation Service has announced the seizure of funds from Song Shijie's mansion in Westminster in central London, six apartments in the Hendon district, and their UK bank accounts, worth a total of 16.7 million pounds (about 161 million yuan). The UK National Criminal Investigation Service alleges that these assets stem from Song Shijie's unauthorized securities transactions in China and the laundering of criminal proceeds in the UK.
According to reports, Song Shijie was involved in a cryptocurrency “pig hunt” scam. The victim's funds were laundered through accounts related to him. According to a document from the Orlando court in Florida at the end of March, Song Shijie avoided criminal charges by abandoning claims about Binance account funds. The three Binance accounts frozen by the court contained cryptocurrencies worth about 10 million US dollars (equivalent to RMB 71.43 million).
