TechFlame reports that, according to Cointelegraph, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) report shows that despite the overall strengthening of the cryptocurrency market, Australian Self-Managed Pension Fund (SMSF) cryptocurrency holdings have declined by about 4% year over year.
According to the data, as of June 2025, SMSF's total cryptocurrency holdings were 3.02 billion Australian dollars (about 1.97 billion US dollars), a decrease of about 100 million Australian dollars from 3.12 billion Australian dollars in June 2024. Simonho, head of SMSF strategy at Australian cryptocurrency exchange Coinstash, said that since the tax filing deadline in June 2025 is May 2026, the current data may not fully reflect the actual situation.
