According to TechFlame, executives from Tether and Circle will meet with CEOs of several top Korean financial groups this week, including Shinhan Financial Group CEO Kim Yu-dong and Korea Asia Financial Group CEO Ham Young-joo. The talks will discuss the potential distribution and use of US dollar stablecoins in South Korea, as well as the issuance of stablecoins backed by the Korean won. The talks come at a time when South Korea is preparing to introduce a stablecoin legal framework in October of this year, and South Korea's ruling party and opposition parties disagree on stablecoin regulation.
