According to TechFlame, according to an official security reminder issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, be wary of false stablecoin license scams. Hong Kong's “Stablecoin Ordinance” has officially entered into force, and the stable issuer supervision system has also begun to be implemented simultaneously. The regulatory system is still in its infancy, and a “pioneering, steady” policy will be adopted in terms of supervisory management.
As the regulatory system comes into effect, market participants should exercise caution when communicating with the public and avoid making statements that cause misunderstandings or unrealistic expectations. Under the Stablecoin Ordinance, it is illegal for anyone to falsely claim to be a licensee or applicant.
As of today, the HKMA has not issued any stablecoin issuer licenses. The public should beware of any stablecoin or stablecoin issuer claiming to be “regulated” or “licensed” in Hong Kong. After issuing a license, the HKMA will upload the list of licensed stablecoin issuers to the HKMA's website in the future.
