According to Cointelegraph, the Bitcoin improvement proposal BIP-119 (OP_CHECKTEMPLATEVERIFY) is progressing at an accelerated pace, and 66 well-known developers have jointly supported the proposal. If approved, BIP-119 will significantly improve Bitcoin's security by introducing “contracts” and “treasury” features, and bring breakthrough improvements to Layer-2 solutions such as the Lightning Network. SECOND CEO Steven Roose said that although the final implementation may take 1-2 years, the technology community is expected to reach a consensus on the direction of the upgrade by the end of 2025. The proposal will make everyday Bitcoin payments more convenient, and may promote interoperability with the Ethereum ecosystem, bringing Bitcoin
