According to TechFlame, Kenyan Minister of Information and Communications Technology William Kabogo announced the official launch of the national digital token KenyAndT (KDT). The token was deployed on the Solana blockchain and became the first national digital asset in sub-Saharan Africa. Kabogo said that Kenya is developing a draft national virtual asset policy and virtual asset service provider (VASP) bill to establish a more regulated digital asset regulatory framework. He also revealed that Kenyan citizens have now traded more than $500 million in digital assets per month, reflecting the high level of public participation in this field.
