On July 6, according to Decrypt, India's National Drug Control Board (NCB) arrested a 35-year-old Kerala engineer, Edison, suspected of running the country's largest dark web drug cartel and using Monero to hide transactions. Indian authorities have seized more than $8.2 million in crypto assets in operation “MELON.” The suspect has been running a dark web drug gang under the moniker “Ketamelon” for the past two years. Allegedly, Edison procures drugs from suppliers around the world, laundered the proceeds through the privacy currency Monero (XMR), and shipped the drugs all over India.
