TechFlame News — According to people familiar with the matter, the Trump administration is considering launching an overseas stablecoin initiative that could take the form of a joint venture with private companies. The Treasury Department, the State Department, and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) may all be involved, with the aim of expanding the use of the dollar and shoring up demand for U.S. Treasuries.
Tether's latest reserve report shows that as of June 30, it directly held $114.96 billion in U.S. Treasuries, with total reserve assets of $187.75 billion, exceeding its liabilities by $4.11 billion. The initiative has not yet established a partnership with Tether, nor has it become a formally operational program.
