TechFlame news — According to Bitcoin Magazine, CoinRoutes co-founder Dave Weisberger said in a video interview with Bitcoin Magazine that the biggest unrealized factor for Bitcoin right now is not ETFs or corporate treasury accumulation, but rather its collateral treatment. He pointed out that banks holding Bitcoin face a haircut of nearly 100%, and that once Bitcoin is treated like other assets based on volatility and liquidity, the situation will change for lenders as well as companies like Strategy Inc (formerly MicroStrategy).
Weisberger called this adjustment "the final gate," and noted that both the Basel Committee and rulemakers believe the change is inevitable, but it has yet to actually materialize. He also touched on asset tokenization, Hyperliquid, and Federal Reserve policy, arguing that under the tokenization trend, Wall Street is throwing its support behind related efforts.
He also said that the influx of ETF capital has reduced Bitcoin's volatility; that every 25 basis point change in interest rates adds $100 billion to the U.S. fiscal deficit; that Bitcoin still has asymmetric option-like properties; and that because the "clean collateral" issue remains unresolved, market FOMO has yet to truly kick in.
