TechFlame News — According to Bloomberg, Anthropic's preliminary second-quarter revenue exceeded $11.5 billion, up at least 14 times from $787 million in the same period last year and surpassing the $4.73 billion recorded in the first quarter of this year. The company also turned adjusted operating profit positive for the quarter. Anthropic was once playing catch-up in the AI race, but its business has picked up significantly as more professionals use its software to streamline workflows such as coding. In May this year, Anthropic's annualized revenue had already surpassed $47 billion. By comparison, OpenAI previously disclosed annualized revenue of over $40 billion, though the two figures may not be calculated on exactly the same basis. As competition in the AI space heats up, IPO funding has reached $256.4 billion so far this year, the highest since 2021 (excluding financial instruments such as SPACs). (Jin Shi)
