TechFlame News, according to The Defiant, Securitize Capital LLC, a subsidiary of tokenization platform Securitize Corp. (NYSE: SECZ), has registered with the U.S. SEC as an investment adviser, effective July 22. The subsidiary had previously operated in Florida since March 2023 as an exempt reporting adviser, only serving venture capital funds or private funds with less than $150 million in U.S. management assets. This registration removes that cap.
Reports indicate that this license completes Securitize's compliance framework around tokenized securities, with its U.S. affiliate entities now encompassing a registered investment adviser, a registered broker-dealer and alternative trading system, a transfer agent, and fund management. The registration also comes five days after SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce warned on July 22 that on-chain treasury vaults and lending strategies could trigger investment adviser regulatory issues.
In U.S. stock market trading, SECZ fell nearly 10% during Monday's session, currently trading at $6.76 per share, with a total market capitalization of approximately $1 billion.
