**TechFlame News:** According to *The Block*, Japanese publicly listed company Metaplanet has acquired Siiibo Securities, a firm licensed to handle Type I financial instruments business, thereby gaining approval to design and sell securities in Japan. Research firm Benchmark noted that while the market generally views the roughly ¥2.1 billion (~$13 million) acquisition as a small-scale expansion, Metaplanet actually plans to use it as a foundation to issue Bitcoin-collateralized bonds ("Bitbonds") with an annual yield of approximately 4%–6%. Subsequently, these bonds will be migrated on-chain and settled via stablecoins, gradually forming a secondary market. Metaplanet’s goal is to enable companies that wish to adopt a Bitcoin balance sheet strategy to issue bonds on its platform to purchase BTC. Under its "Project Nova" roadmap, the company aims to build a new type of financial institution centered around Bitcoin. Currently, Metaplanet holds approximately 43,000 BTC, making it the third-largest corporate Bitcoin treasury globally among publicly listed companies.
