TechFlame News — According to BusinessWire, Empery Digital Inc. (Nasdaq: EMPD), a U.S. publicly traded company adopting a Bitcoin treasury management strategy, announced that it completed a $20 million investment in preferred stock of Cardinal Data Power, Inc. ("CDP") on July 20, 2026, securing an approximately 8% equity stake.
CDP, a subsidiary of Hunt Properties, specializes in developing power-driven data center campuses, focusing on powering and constructing next-generation gigawatt-scale data center campuses in West Texas and West Virginia.
The investment is part of CDP's approximately $70 million Series A funding round, intended to support its first campus project in West Texas. The project spans over 3,500 acres, with Phase 1 set to begin operations in 2027, reaching a total capacity of approximately 1 gigawatt by 2029, and plans for future expansion to over 5 gigawatts. The Series A round was led by Hood River Capital Management.
