A family in the home was awakened by the noise and immediately alerted the police, prompting the suspects to flee the scene, leaving behind only their vehicle’s license plate as a clue. It is reported that crypto-related kidnapping crimes are on the rise in France, with about 70 cases involving abduction or extortion for crypto assets recorded since the beginning of 2026.
