TechFlame News — According to a survey commissioned by CoinDesk of 1,000 registered U.S. voters, only 1% of respondents ranked cryptocurrency as the most important issue in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, placing it near the very bottom of all concerns. In contrast, the cost of living (36%), jobs and the economy (13%), and Social Security and Medicare (11%) emerged as the top issues for voters.
The survey also revealed that American voters hold a generally negative view of cryptocurrency, with only 27% of respondents saying they have invested in, traded, or used crypto, and another 27% indicating they might participate in the future. Approximately 47% of respondents believe the Republican Party is more friendly toward cryptocurrency, while only 14% see the Democratic Party as more supportive of the crypto industry. However, when it comes to which party is more trusted to manage crypto affairs, Democrats edged out Republicans, 27% to 25%, while 40% of respondents said they trust neither party.
Despite cryptocurrency not being a core election issue, about 40% of respondents still said they would be more inclined to vote for candidates who align with their views on crypto, signaling that the influence of digital assets in American politics continues to rise.
