TechFlame News: Community developer Tom Lehman has released the draft of EIP-8182, proposing to make private transfers a native feature of the Ethereum protocol. The proposal includes deploying a shared shielding pool at a fixed address along with a ZK proof verification precompile to create a unified anonymity set. Through a hard fork upgrade, it eliminates the need for admin keys or governance tokens, leveraging Ethereum's existing trust model. This design supports fully private transfers within the pool while remaining compatible with existing wallet and address systems. It aims to address issues of fragmentation and trust dependency in privacy applications, and is currently in the Draft stage.
