According to the official announcement from Coinbase Developer Platform (@CoinbaseDev), the x402 protocol has recently introduced three major updates: first, support for all ERC-20 token payments, allowing developers to accept on-chain payments for USDC, EURC, and any ERC-20 tokens via EIP-3009 and Permit2; second, the launch of the Sign-in-with-X (SIWX) feature, enabling cross-chain login for EVM and Solana wallets, where buyers can access purchased content without repeated payments using wallet signatures, built on standards such as CAIP-122 and EIP-4361; and third, the release of the x402 MCP toolkit, providing developers with one-click monetization MCP tools and the ability to integrate directly into AI workflows.
