TechFlame News: Cryptocurrency analyst Michaël van de Poppe posted that Bitcoin's recent pullback has led to a significant surge in realized losses, reaching an all-time high. This marks one of the largest realized loss events in Bitcoin's history, comparable to the peak losses during the 2018 bear market crash, the COVID-19 plunge in March 2020, and the Luna/FTX collapse in 2022. A large number of holders are capitulating, either selling at a loss or transferring their BTC while in the red. Such extreme realization of losses typically signals panic selling and forced liquidations in the market. Historically, similar massive spikes in realized losses often occur at or near cyclical bottoms, as they indicate the complete flushing out of "weak hands" and highly leveraged positions. Notably, the Sharpe Ratio has dropped to its lowest level since the previous cycle's bottom; the market is undergoing a large-scale capitulation event with exceptionally high realized losses; market sentiment has nearly frozen. The only difference this time is that Bitcoin has declined only about 50% from its all-time high, rather than 80%. The bottom is near.
