TechFlame News: The Ethereum Foundation has announced the establishment of a Platform Team, with the goal of building the most robust Ethereum platform possible, enabling both Layer 1 (L1) and Layer 2 (L2) to better support users, applications, and all organizations built on Ethereum. The initiative aims to improve the relationship between L1 and L2, fostering a mutually reinforcing system across all layers. The Foundation noted that since the Rollup-centric roadmap was first proposed five years ago, a chain ecosystem has developed around Ethereum’s L1. The early mindset focused on Rollups has evolved into differentiated L2 networks, each with its own unique and valuable economic system, extending Ethereum’s core features to millions of users. As Ethereum continues to mature, the Foundation believes more must be done to create a unified platform that fully leverages the unique advantages of the Ethereum system (L1 + L2). This includes enhancing the value proposition of L2, optimizing its adoption-driving mechanisms to generate broader value for Ethereum, guiding the ecosystem toward a more secure and permissionless architecture, and simplifying the process for users and institutions to adopt Ethereum. More importantly, building a stronger Ethereum means driving technical improvements to reinforce and enhance its core features and unique strengths.
