TechFlame News: Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong posted on social media addressing "why Coinbase is always misunderstood or undervalued by Wall Street," stating: "I do believe Coinbase is a misunderstood company. This is a classic 'innovator's dilemma.' On one hand, the smartest traditional financial institutions are fully embracing the crypto industry. Five Global Systemically Important Banks (GSIBs) have already started partnering with Coinbase. Many large financial institutions are also hiring crypto talent. As regulations become clearer, we see about 50% of major financial institutions actively embracing this trend. On the other hand, the other half remains behind and resistant. The world's most disruptive innovations almost always follow a similar pattern. Whether it's Uber, Airbnb, autonomous driving, AI applications, or SpaceX's impact on NASA. The crypto industry is directly disrupting Wall Street, so it's not surprising that some on Wall Street misunderstand crypto and Coinbase. Smart people will embrace it, while laggards will be left behind. Coinbase and the crypto industry have never been in a stronger position than they are now. For investors to achieve outsized returns, they must be 'both early and right.' Coinbase remains undervalued, and this is not yet a consensus among traditional analysts. I recommend focusing on what the company commits to doing and whether it delivers, rather than just looking at whether analyst models predict 'beating expectations' or 'missing expectations.' Additionally, our GAAP net income includes unrealized gains and losses from our crypto holdings, so adjusted net income should also be considered (even in a down market, we were profitable last quarter, a point many media reports misunderstood)."
