Metaplanet Inc. announced in its fiscal year 2025 financial report that the company has become Japan's largest Bitcoin holder, with 35,102 Bitcoins held as of the end of 2025, accounting for approximately 0.16% of the global Bitcoin supply and ranking fourth among publicly traded companies worldwide in terms of Bitcoin holdings. The financial report shows that the company's revenue for fiscal year 2025 reached ¥8.905 billion, a year-on-year increase of 738.3%, while operating profit amounted to ¥6.287 billion, a year-on-year growth of 1694.5%.
Through a diversified financing strategy, including the issuance of preferred shares, the company has raised over ¥500 billion in total for Bitcoin purchases. Among these, Class B preferred shares (MERCURY) have been issued through third-party placements, raising ¥21.249 billion and offering an annual yield of 4.9%.
Metaplanet plans to achieve the goal of holding 1% of the global Bitcoin supply by 2027 and will continue to rely on its "Bitcoin yield business" as a core driver of profit growth.
