TechFlame News: Caixin published an article titled "Building a Firewall for Virtual Currencies to Protect the Public's 'Money Bags'," which pointed out: Recently, speculative trading of virtual currencies has seen a resurgence. Establishing a firewall for virtual currencies not only requires full collaboration among various departments but also calls for improving relevant regulations, enhancing regulatory standards, strengthening technical monitoring capabilities in key areas, and protecting normal economic and trade activities. Data shows that in 2024, relevant authorities prosecuted 3,032 individuals involved in money laundering crimes such as transferring criminal proceeds using "virtual currencies." Many people were drawn into such activities due to a lack of legal awareness. Scholars analyzed 283 court verdicts on virtual currency money laundering crimes and found that criminal organizations frequently exploit marginalized youth with low socioeconomic status as tools for crime, with significant regional clustering and a predominance of individuals with middle or high school education.
