TechFlame reports that stablecoin issuer Tether issued a final announcement on November 26, stating it will halt the liquidation process of its euro-pegged stablecoin EUR₮. As the final step of this process, Tether will discontinue EUR₮ redemption services across all supported blockchains starting November 27, 2025. Previously, Tether had already ceased minting EUR₮ and is no longer accepting new issuance requests. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino explained that winding down EUR₮ is aimed at optimizing operational and technical infrastructure, allowing the company to focus more on high-utility networks and forward-looking initiatives. Tether's primary focus in Europe will be the Hadron by Tether platform, which is designed to simplify asset tokenization and provide institutions, fund managers, and governments with tools for issuing, investing, and leveraging core capital markets technology.
