TechFlame reports that MiniPay, the wallet under Opera, has launched its "Pay like a local" feature, enabling users in Argentina and Brazil to settle transactions with stablecoins through local payment systems when making purchases or accessing services in stores.
This feature links USDT balances with major payment systems such as PIX and Mercado Pago, allowing users to complete payments by scanning QR codes while instantly converting USDT into local currency.
MiniPay plans to expand this functionality to more markets and, in collaboration with partners, provide two-way conversion channels between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies in Latin America and Canada.
As a product developed by browser company Opera, MiniPay is a stablecoin wallet built on the Celo blockchain. The newly introduced "Pay like a local" feature is specifically designed to allow users in Argentina and Brazil to directly use stablecoins for payments in local stores and service scenarios.
