TechFlame reports that on November 6, according to Decrypt, YouTube clarified that its upcoming policy, set to take effect on November 17, will not impose a blanket ban on cryptocurrency content. Previously, YouTube announced "an expansion of its online gambling content ban, prohibiting content that directs viewers to websites offering 'additional items with monetary value,' including in-game skins, cosmetics, and NFTs," which raised concerns within the crypto community.
A YouTube spokesperson confirmed to Decrypt that "content showcasing video game skins or cosmetics acquired by creators in games, or general discussions about items with real-world monetary value, such as NFTs, will not be affected by this update." The policy specifically targets gambling websites, not legitimate crypto gaming experiences.
