TechFlame reports that defense attorneys for FTX founder SBF (Sam Bankman-Fried) plan to file a motion for a retrial with the appellate court, arguing that media coverage, prosecutorial conduct, and the rushed judgment by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan led to his wrongful conviction. The defense is seeking a new judge and a restart of the proceedings. The legal team contends that SBF had no intent to defraud customers, maintaining he always believed user funds could be fully repaid. They also allege that Judge Kaplan improperly blocked them from presenting to the jury the crucial argument that "FTX possessed sufficient assets to cover user liabilities." In addition to the appeal, it has been reported that SBF's parents previously sought a presidential pardon from former President Donald Trump.
