CME to launch 7×24 crypto derivatives trading in early 2026

According to TechFlame, according to CME Group's official website, CME (CME) announced that its cryptocurrency futures and options will be continuously traded 7×24 on CME Globex from the beginning of 2026, with only a weekly weekend maintenance window of about two hours to be implemented after the regulatory review is passed. Friday night to Sunday night transactions on holidays or weekends will use the next business day as the trading day, and clearing, settlement, and regulatory reporting will be postponed simultaneously. According to CME, crypto derivatives set a new record in 2025: the nominal amount of unclosed positions reached 39 billion US dollars on September 18; 335,200 unclosed positions per day in August, an increase of 95% over the previous year, about US$31.6 billion; ADV in August was 411,000, an increase of 230% over the previous year, about US$14.9 billion in nominal terms; there were more than 1010 large holders.
